FAQs
Sendmefish.com is owned and run by The Fish Shop, a Fishmongers based in Bristol and established in 2010. We pride ourselves on supplying the best fresh fish and only ever sell fish we would like to eat ourselves.
Our fish and seafood is the freshest it can be. We only send fish direct from the Plymouth and Looe on the day it was landed. Our Salmon comes from trusted suppliers we have used for years. All orders come with free delivery, backed by our no quibble satisfaction guarantee.
We are sure you agree – there’s already enough plastic in the world. So all sendmefish.com orders are packed in biodegradable vacuum packs with ice packs and the box they are sent to your local shop in is made of insulated cardboard rather than polystyrene.
Sorry no. This service is for people who are looking for more fish in their diet but we cannot take orders or prefences. We will buy what is in season so we can give you best value and continue to offer free delivery. This way we can give you better and more fish!
The range will change, but here is an example:
- 2 fillets of Salmon
- 4 Mackerel fillets
- 4 lemon Sole fillets
- 2 bass fillets
- 2 pollock fillets
We always say eat today, tomorrow or freeze (up to 3 months)
Yes sure. Just email us and we will sort it out.
You can cancel your direct debit at any time. Or drop us a mail and we can cancel for you.
We take sustainability very seriously. Our mixed fish boxes come from Looe fish market, the home of Cornish dayboat fish in the UK. Smaller boats means less disruptive fishing methods and – because they are out fishing for less time – fresher and better fish. Mackerel is always line caught or in shore netted and MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) approved Hake is gill netted. We have an ongoing relationship with Marine Biologist Steve Simpson
Yep. By offering a bulk order, delivered to one collection point near you, we can absorb the delivery costs. Less vans on the road and less packaging is also better for the environment.
Sorry no. We only offer delivery to your local collection hub/shop.
We believe community is the future so we have chosen to work with established local shops in largely rural areas. In return for marketing our services to their trusted customers we are giving these shops a small commission on each order. And we hope that when you pick up your fish you might be tempted to buy something from them as well.
